Sunny D OOH ad campaign

Written by:

This is a SPEC piece written based on a wordtonic brief. It was my first time creating an AD like this and I had so much fun doing it. I am a person who loves SunnyD, despite not being able to drink it (me and grapefruit do not mix!).

I also haven’t done any copywriting work for a little while so I felt a bit rusty coming into this but I think I did alright!

The Brief!

To write up an OOH ad (out-of-home…aka, any ad that is in
THE REAL WORLD. An ad on the side of a bus or a billboard, for
example) promoting the new ‘Spooky D’ mystery juice.
But here’s the challenge.
We want your ad to be STRANGE. UNHINGED. AND A LITTLE
CONCERNING.

TONE OF VOICE:
Light, playful and cheeky.

TARGET AUDIENCE:
Sunny D primarily targets young people and GEN-Zrs, but has
a super wide consumer base of all ages – so nothing too
explicit

What I did

I think I met the brief well, I used bold text and a central image to draw in the viewer, I wanted them to see this in town and look back confused. I also wanted to stick to Halloween themed colours. I used purple and green as they are complete opposites on the colour wheel and are therefore the most complementary to each other.

Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication
